We would like to congratulate the UMP for or organizing the MUCEET 2009 and also like to congratulate the UTHM team's for winning 2 awards. The purpose of this conference is to share the research and its latest outcome among the acedemicians and to enhance collaboration on industrial requirements.
The event's theme for this year is 'Commercialization & Enterprise'. Indeed it conveys a very meaningful message. Foremost, it underscores our commitment to go down a path less travelled by many universities especially in Malaysia, i.e to pursue the commercialization of research outputs and value creation.
While Malaysia has been as one of the developing countries in the world, where opportunities for bilateral as well as multilateral relationships with industries are abundant, the potentials for such collaborations has not been fully developed or even explored. Therefore, this event can be be good platform for us to reiterate our commitment to link with the industry and reassess our capabilities those that fulfill industry requirements in engineering and technology in order to enhance collaboration with the industry. That our efforts today can uplift our four universities capacities.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all participants for taking time to present their papers as well products.

As the Vice-Chancellor, I'm very proud and pleased with the way the comittee organises this conference. MUCEET 2009 is proof that the young and rather new Malaysian Technical Universities are capable of and committed to realising the Ministry of Higher Education's Universities aspiration and moto- "Leading Knowledge Excellence".
